The Moidart Collection – Book III

This third volume of The Moidart Collection brings together a further hundred tunes that continue my exploration of the Gaelic piping tradition – from its roots in song and dance to the living music of today.

The collection includes both traditional melodies arranged for pipes and compositions mostly by myself and my two brothers written over the years for friends, places, and occasions that have left a mark on our lives. Each tune carries a story. 

My aim, as always, is to keep the tradition alive- to honour the old forms while allowing the music to breathe, grow and find new expression.
